Two busy mothers lose touch in the 60’s, reunited using Peopletracer 50 years later

Posted on Wednesday 27th June 2012

Joye wanted to contact Marie, her old friend who she had known since 1945. Unfortunately, the friends lost touch around 1960 when they were busy bringing up their children and changing addresses.

Luckily, Joye had so much information on Marie that in spite of Marie having a very common surname, the search was relatively straightforward.

At first Joye tried to trace Marie's children using the online GRO Indexes but as the surname was so common this was not successful.

Thankfully, Joye had a maiden name for Marie and although she was unsure of the spelling she did know that Marie had an older brother and remembered his Christian name.

The search ended with Peopletracer’s online Electoral Rolls, which provided a telephone number for Marie’s brother. A quick telephone call to Marie's brother, and he was happy to pass on Marie's contact details.

Joye and Marie were soon reminiscing about old times and filling each other in with the events that had happened since they were last in contact.

Once again, two happy ladies who are hoping to meet up soon.
