Long lost sister-in-law traced back to Australia more than 20 years after losing touch

Posted on Tuesday 25th September 2012

Lynda needed help finding her sister-in-law Gerda, who she hadn't heard from for over 20 years. Gerda was married to Glyn, who was Lynda's late husband Roy's brother.

Gerda and Glyn lived in Middlesex but sadly Glyn passed away in 1990 and Lynda.s family, based in Wales, lost contact with Gerda soon after.

Using the last known address, Lynda contacted the Local Studies for this area and they were able to search the electoral rolls between 1988 to 1990. This search confirmed the official first names for Gerda and her husband which were slightly different to their spoken names.

With this new information, Lynda was hopeful of finding a new address for Gerda using Peopletracer.s online electoral roll search, but to no avail. The next step was to try and contact some of Gerda's neighbours in case they had kept in touch.

Using Peopletracer.s Address Search facility, some of Gerda's neighbours were contacted and fortunately one of them was a friend of Gerda.s and still had contact details for her cousin.

A quick phone call followed and resulted with a new address and telephone number for Gerda. in Australia! It was soon discovered that Gerda had started a new life in Australia, she was doing well and still driving, even in her early 90's. Lynda and Gerda are thrilled to be back in touch again.
