Irene had lost contact with her favourite cousin, Brian, roughly 10 years ago and decided to seek help in tracing him.
Irene’s search was important for two reasons - both cousins would be 70 next year and Irene had previously been unable to find Brian when they had their landmark birthdays of 60.
Secondly, Irene had recently lost her husband who had started the initial search for Brian before he died.
Irene was able to gain vital information from an old neighbour of Brian’s who had suggested that he and his wife Brenda might have moved to the Isle of Wight.
As Brian and Brenda had a common surname, the Online Marriage Indexes were searched to find their second initials and then a quick browse of Peopletracer's electoral rolls provided an address for the couple in the Isle of Wight.
A letter was quickly sent to this address and a couple of days later the phone rang and it was Brenda who was so pleased to be back in touch with Irene once again.
Hopefully, the cousins are now in touch preparing for their 70th birthday celebrations and catching up with ten years news albeit some of it sad with the loss of Irene's husband. But wouldn't he be pleased that contact had at last been made.
