Michael wanted to trace Peter, his old school and college friend and later best man. They had lost contact with each other over 45 years ago except for the exchange of Christmas cards, which ceased in the early 70's.
Patricia, who lives in Tyne and Wear, had never known Marie and Joseph, her sibling twins. She knew of their existence and the fact that her mother had put them into foster care at birth. She had also been informed that they had not been adopted. Patricia's own enquiries revealed that Joseph had joined the army at 17, but had since left.
Roy, who now lives in Australia, was aged 66 before he tried to trace his British biological family. He had known he was adopted since he was 23 years old, but had done nothing about it until the mid eighties. Living so far away from the UK made this search very difficult for him. He knew his parents full names and discovered that a sister was born in 1944, so he obtained a copy of the birth certificate confirming this fact.
