- The key to successful searching is ensuring that you spell both
first and last names correctly. If you are unsure of any spellings
use our Smartsearch technology by placing an asterix * after a
part name. eg Mart* will display matches for Martin, Martyn, Martina
etc
- Always use full first names not abbreviations. Joe and Rich
will probably be registered as Joseph and Richard.
- Some people are referred to by their middle name. Mark Richard
Taylor may be displayed as Richard Taylor.
- If there are no matches in a particular area, extend the search
to a county or conduct a UK search. If someone was last known
to be living in London 15 years ago, they may have relocated anywhere.
- Bear in mind a female may have married since you last had contact.
If so, we recommend conducting a marriage search at UK Certificates
They can also conduct death searches if it is possible that the
person has passed away.
