Our Birth Index database includes a record of every registered birth that occurred in England and Wales in the period 1984-2005 inclusive.

Records are updated annually with approximately 500,000 new births and our database is the most comprehensive and up to date available anywhere on the internet today.

Our search results include the following information:

Surname
Forename(s)
Month & Year of Entry
Mother’s Maiden Name
Registration District

It does not include a copy of the actual birth certificate. This needs to be ordered separately from UK Certificates.

If you require a birth search prior to 1984, all records in England and Wales from 1837-1983 can be accessed at UK Certificates. They also hold birth records for Scotland and Northern Ireland.
